Here’s Why We Need you (job purpose)

 

The Copywriter is a new role at Sunlife and is a great opportunity to partner with our newly appointed Senior Art Director to create a strong creative team supporting Sunlife’s marketing campaigns and visual identity.  You’ll be using your skills to deliver persuasive copy but we’d also like you to bring some creativity and conceptual ability. Our business is almost entirely direct marketing focussed so you’ll need to be comfortable with long copy designed to provoke action.  As well as working alongside the senior art director, you’ll be liaising with our on-site agency team and external agency partners to ensure our communications have a consistent tone and are market-leading.

 

Here’s what you’ll do for us (accountabilities)


1.      You’ll apply your creative and conceptual experience to deliver long copy across multiple products

2.      You’ll work across a range of media including mail packs, inserts, press ads, doordrops, TV, radio, Facebook ads, InMail, web copy, email and more. 

3.      You’ll get under the skin of our brand tone of voice and shape and hone it.

4.      You’ll build a passionate understanding of how to engage the Over 50’s customer 

5.      You’ll be able to flex between different products such as life insurance, equity release, funeral plans and general insurance

6.      You’ll build challenger creative that engages our customers to respond and buy

7.      You’ll be quick to take a brief and produce relevant, customer-centric copy

8.      You’ll quickly be able to understand the Regulatory Guidelines for our industry, which will be applied to your copy

9.      You’ll deliver high quality copy

3.      You’ll champion the Sunlife tone of voice which will shine through in your copy 

4.      You’ll seek out opportunities to learn about the customer and draw on the knowledge around you to support your understanding

5.      You’ll demonstrate flexibility in how you manage your workload and priorities

6.      You’ll have an eye on competitor copy with ideas of how to gain the edge

7.      You’ll demonstrate an inquisitive mind that enables you to get to the nub of the brief

8.      Copy will be complaint to Regulatory requirements

9.      You’ll quality control your own work to ensure minimal re-work is required
